The Asian Australasian Society of Neurological Surgeons
 
 

The Asian Australasian Society of Neurological Surgeons (AASNS) is the continental society for neurosurgeons and neurosurgical societies in Asia and Australasia.


It is the largest continental society of neurological surgeons in the world, with more than 28 countries in its membership, with more than 20,000 neurosurgeons representing 60% of the world’s neurosurgeons looking after 60% of the world’s population.


The Society organises the Asian Australasian Congress of Neurological Surgeons every four years. The first Congress was held in Canberra, Australia in 1967 with Sir Douglas Miller as its first president. The most recent Congress was held in Taipei in December 2011 under the presidency of Professor Yong-Kwang TU. The 14th Asian Australasian Congress of Neurological Surgeons will be held in Jeju Island, Korea, in 2015.

The 13th Asian Australasian Congress of Neurological Surgeons, held on

1-4 December, 2011 at the Taipei International Conference Centre, Taipei, Taiwan has ended.

Developing training programs for neurological surgeons.


Providing neurosurgical services in developing countries within the

scope of this organisation.


Fostering and aiding research in neurological surgery and allied sciences.
